She strongly believes that early literacy changes the world. Reading is dreaming with open eyes and books aren’t just made of words, rather they are filled with places to visit and people to meet. In the process, she has successfully completed a comprehensive and prestigious course on Phonics from CPD College, United Kingdom.

Testimonials

The Heritage School, Gurgaon

It gives us immense pleasure to recommend Ms Saswati from Bhubaneswar who conducted a two day phonics workshop for our pre primary and primary teachers. She trained 80 teachers in two day module which consisted of two batches of 40 each. She also conducted a one day train the trainer module.

The workshop included the techniques for teaching phonics to early learners for enhancing their reading abilities with continuous practice that equipped the teachers to get comfortable with the techniques and strategies to teach phonics.

Ms Saswati's passion, clarity of the subject and involvement with all trainers in the workshop is commendable. Her session was engaging involving easy to use techniques. Her energy levels in conducting the workshop is worthy of appreciation.

We will look forward to our continued association with her and wish her success.

Sai International School, Bhubaneswar

The “Phonics Workshop” conducted by Mrs Saswati Satpathy from SAI Kids Phonics proved to be extremely constructive as the teachers of the junior segment were exposed to learning phonics across various verticals. The efficacy of the workshop lay in the fact that the teachers were trained on blend sounds, letter sounds, letter formations, accent reduction and most importantly eliminating MTI. I believe this has led to a profound improvement on both, macro and micro levels of the teaching learning processes of the school. A remarkable improvement in the spoken English of the teachers was observed which I am sure will have a consequent impact on the students.

Ms Saswati Satpathy, the Chief Trainer of Sai Kids Phonics isn't just a phonics trainer but a coach. She showed us a fun filled path to early literacy and mesmerised us with her magical rules for blending and spelling. Essential Skills for Early Literacy

Learning The Letter Sounds

Children are taught 42 main letter sounds. It includes alphabet sounds as well as diagraphs (2 letters making a single sound).

Learning Letter Formation

It is very important that a child holds the pencil in the correct way. The grip is the same for both left and right handed children. Using different multisensory methods, children learn how to form & write the letters.

Learning Letter Formation

Segmenting

Identifying the sounds in words (segmenting) & listening for sounds in words gives children the best start for improving spellings. Dictations on a regular basis aids in independent writing.

Tricky Words

Some words in English have an irregular spelling & cannot be read by blending such as said, was, one etc. unfortunately, many of these are common words. The irregular parts have to be remembered. They are called tricky words.

Blending

It is the process of saying the individual sounds in a word & running them together to make a word.

Blending and spelling rules

The rules of phonics help children to make connection between written letters and letter combination and word sounds. The rules can explain why a certain pattern occurs and why a word is spelt that way.

Mnemonics to make life easier.

Hope children to write difficult words easily the fun way.

SAI KIDS PHONICS

The journey of 'Sai Kids Phonics' started with my conviction that children who start reading early, read a lot throughout life. Like any other parent having a kid in the kindergarten, I also wanted my child to start reading at an early age, as reading widens our horizon of knowledge, exposes us to diverse culture and enriches our vocabulary.
